LAB #10 - Porella navicularis


Below is a picture of the underside of the plant to show the complicately bilobed lateral leaves. An lateral leaf is outlined in pink and you can see that it consists of a large lobe and a smaller lobule. An underleaf is outlined in blue.

Below you can see a female plant. Perianth are fused leaves which function to protect the archegoniaand the developing sporophytes.



Archegonium:

The sporangium matures prior to the seta elongating.

You can see the immature spores still in tetrads below. The elaters are also not finished differentiating.
