LAB #3 - Tortula muralis

Tortula muralis commonly grows on concrete.

You can see the hairpoints on the leaves.

A closer look at a leaf:

Here is a cross-section through the costa of a leaf. There is a reduced conducting strand (which apparently does not have hydroids).

This section through the leaf demonstrates the recurved leaf margin.

Note the papillae.

Note twisted peristome teeth.
