LAB #3 - Dicranum scoparium

Dicranum scoparium is a distinctive moss, found in a number of different habitats.

You can find it on trees.

Dicranum scoparium has falcate (curved) secund (facing one direction) leaves.


Note the pitted leaf cells.

Here is a sporangium demonstrating the one row of peristome teeth.
