Lunularia cruciata

A pore. It serves the same purpose as the stomata seen in Funaria hygrometrica above; it allows CO2 to enter the plant so it can photosynthesize. There are no guard cells, however, and so it cannot close to prevent water loss. The "little boogers" inside the Lunularia pore are chlorophyllose cells - the wormy cells that stand up from the floor inside the little dome of an air chamber.
