LAB #8 - Takakia lepidozioides

Here is a picture of Dr. Schofield and Olivia looking for Takakia on rock beside a waterfall up Jervis Inlet.



The leave are radially arranged - each leaf may be deeply lobed into 2, 3, or 4 lobes. Each is cylindrical, tapered to tip, tristratose in most of length.

Oil drops:

The stems are erect and unbranched, arising from a creeping colourless rhizome system (not cutinized).

The picture below shows the emergence of new stems.
